Letter Spacing in Burmese Script

This is not a big deal! Ok might be or might not be. One of my client want me to give spacing between each Burmese script on their website. I am using Tharlon Font Face.

It doesn’t simply goes right after giving this css.

  letter-spacing: 2px;
  line-height: 20px;
  font-size: 15px;
}

I am ok in Chrome but when it comes to my Firefox fonts are broken.

Ok I hate that. But don’t mind me , Burmese font face are made by using clig and liga insteand of rlig which Firefox support by default.Thanks to Andrew who lighten me up for this case.

What we need for Firefox is to use css3’s font-feature property.

Here is the code

p {
  font-family:"Tharlon" , Myanmar MN, sans-serif;
  letter-spacing: 2px;
  line-height: 20px;
  font-size: 15px;
  -moz-font-feature-settings: 'clig', 'liga';
  font-weight: normal;
}

We enable clig and liga features by announcing with css3 font-feature. It is not a right way but it is the best way to use on hand.

Had Fun.
